Lose 30 Pounds For Life

by admin on March 4, 2010

Lose 30 pounds – Okay, you’re ready.  All the procrastination is behind you.  The determination is hardening.  It’s time to eliminate distractions, narrow your focus and get ‘er done.

I lost 30 pounds 20+ years ago on the Atkins Diet.  But, as most diets go, I gradually gained that weight back… and more.  For sustainable weight loss is seldom just about discipline and sacrifice.

 Lose 30 Pounds

To lose 30 pounds is a commendable goal.  And you CAN do it.  But the ultimate goal is to lose 30 pounds and keep it off.  And that’s a different story.

How to lose 30 pounds – The first step, of course, is to actually decide what steps you will take to lose 30 pounds.  You need a specific step-by-step plan.  “Winging it” and just being less of a glutton are not a plan.  Most people will simply drift off and eventually abandon any loose plan.  Knowing how to lose 30 pounds is first knowing how to identify and implement the right plan for you.

Everyone’s different.  Your likes and dislikes for types of foods can dramatically affect your attitude toward any diet.  I personally dislike most vegetables and salads, so I face a basic challenge, and must be very discerning in picking a plan.  I probably tried Atkins because of my liking meats, eggs and other high-protein foods.  But it was too extreme and couldn’t be sustained.

Fastest way to lose weight – Are you like me and have no patience whatever?  I wanted  to lose my 30 pounds overnight. So speed-to-benefit, as they say in business, was a big deal.  Trouble is, most rapid weight loss plans are too extreme, are not sustainable and can even be dangerous.  I kept forgetting that it took years for me to get this way, and expecting to get rid of it in a month are more than a bit unrealistic.

What most people don’t recognize is that rapid weight loss will not just eliminate fat.  You will also lose muscle unless you have a very well-coordinated diet and exercise plan.

Rapid weight loss can work, but the plan must be extremely well-defined and followed carefully.

Healthy ways to lose weight – What this blog is about is about finding a balance – to identify healthy ways to lose weight that fit your lifestyle, so your weight loss can be more sustainable.

If you’re ready to get started right away, here’s the single best program I’ve found that makes it achievable to lose 30 pounds without it feeling like you gave up your life.  I’ve lost 15 pounds in the first 6 weeks toward my 30-pounds goal and I still go out for dinner with my wife and have a great meal, I “cheat” regularly without guilt and yet my tummy keeps getting flatter and flatter.

It’s not 30 pounds in 30 days, but I feel great, not deprived and with so much more energy.  So it will take me 3 months to reach my goal… so what.  I know it could be faster if I wanted to follow an optional quick-loss plan available in the program.  But I’d rather find a way to keep going after 3 months as if there were no diet involved. Quick Way To Lose Weight – The Mindset

by admin on April 22, 2010

Quick Way To Lose WeightWhat is the quick way to lose weight? When we start a diet or exercise plan, our mindset is clear – we’re looking for and expect quick weight loss.  But we forget that it took some time to add those extra pounds and we get frustrated that we can’t just lose those extra pounds overnight.

When you read all the quick-weight-loss ads and articles, they all claim that their product, diet or exercise program is the absolute best.  And no other product, diet or exercise program compares with theirs. We all know how that goes.  It’s no wonder we get cynical.

The new cabbage soup diet, the latest low carbohydrate diet, the grapefruit diet, the 10-minutes-a-day exercise transformation… they all claim to be the best way to lose weight quickly.  All the while, you’re starving for nourishment… depriving your body of much-needed essential nutrients… leaving yourself more prone to illness because your immune system is not functioning properly.  Beware of claims that promise miracles. They foster a false and dangerous mindset.  Finding quick ways to lose weight is not about miracles.

The real challenge is to identify a quick way to lose weight that is not only safe… you feel healthy and energetic while you lose that weight. You should be looking for quick ways to lose weight that fit your hectic lifestyle and don’t feel like a dreaded chore that interrupts your life.  The best way to lose weight quickly cannot be something you’re constantly looking for excuses to avoid.

The ultimate quick way to lose weight is a combination of smart diet, consistent exercise and, possibly, safe supplements that can become a balanced part of your every day lifestyle… a comfortable fit in your life rather than an unwelcomed interruption of that life.  Until you can achieve that balance, quick weight loss will be a struggle… a job… a dreaded chore.

The quick weight loss mindset that is an all-out sprint to a smaller jeans or bathing suit size is destined for failure – not that you can’t lose that weight with a total commitment – but rather that those pounds and inches are virtually assured to return because what got you to that size is not sustainable.  It’s not part of your lifestyle.  It’s an aberration.

Don’t dismiss mindset as new-age drivel.  Until you make even quick weight loss fit your lifestyle, you’re destined for disappointment.  Weight loss must be less about deprivation and more an affirmation of the joy and life benefits of eating right, exercising your body, taking care of your body and finding balance in all parts of your life.

The real mindset in finding the best way to lose weight quickly is to find a balance between discipline and satisfaction… between health and beauty… between success and failure… between expectations and reality.

When you can find the mindset that makes your weight loss program a positive journey on the way to the YOU that you envision you want to and can sustainably be… you are ready.  Then go for it with passion and commitment.  You CAN do it.

I found a program that makes a quick way to lose weight achievable without deprivation.  Check it out now.
